Wybron invented the scrolling color changer in 1980,
forever changing the way lighting designers execute their visions. But that was
just the beginning.
Wybron's burst of innovative energy kept going, resulting in a continuous stream of industry-standard products and accessories. Wybron's
Coloram color changer continues to dominate stages worldwide as designers demand it for its unmatched range of features, easy utility, and dependable
Wybron performance. The CXI offers a nearly infinite color palette and real-time color adjustment, all from the comfort of your console. Autopilot II, the industry's only 3-D follow spot tracking system, gives
performers new freedom to move, matching light movement to performer movement in real time. And Eclipse and Eclipse II, our popular DMX-controlled dowsers, do mechanically what can't
be done electronically: They give designers real control over their HMI and other non-dimmable lights.
Tying all our equipment and other RDM-capable gear together is the Infotrace Control and Management System. Never before have fixture options
and operating information been so readily available from the desk via standard wiring and equipment.
With Wybron's commitment to innovation and the industries we serve, there's no telling what we'll come up with next. One thing's for certain: It will meet
Wybron's high standards for innovation, quality, and dependability.
Wybron Nexera LX
Wybron's NexeraLX™ luminaires feature dichroic CMY color mixing,
giving the user a nearly limitless number of colors from which to choose. With
the introduction of the NexeraLX line, the color module can now be addressed
anywhere in the DMX universe, and it's even quieter than before.
We use glass color media to provide a wide array of colors that can be
gracefully faded through the entire spectrum. Quiet motor movement, combined
with convection cooling, means these fixtures can be used on any stage with no
worries about noise issues, making them especially suited for churches and small
theatres. Bright, efficient, and easy to use, Nexera offers Wybron's legendary
reliability at a low cost.
The Nexera comes in two profile spot zoom configurations as well as a fresnel
style wash fixture. For extremely long lamp life applications, the Nexera can
also be fitted with a CDM lamp, ballast, and mechanical dimmer.
All Nexeras ship with Wybron's RDM-compliant Infotrace two-way communication
features, allowing users to check the equipment from the convenience of a
laptop.
Wybron Coloram IT
The Coloram IT™ color changer delivers everything you love about the
Coloram II – the color, the reliability, the quality – but now with the added
benefits of feedback with Wybron's Infotrace Control and
Management System.
The eight sizes of the Coloram IT changers fit nearly every light fixture
available. And it's the quietest color changer we've ever built! In a recent
noise comparison test, Coloram IT measured more than 4.3 dB lower than the
Coloram II during zero movement.
Up to 32 gel colors can be used in the Coloram IT. Gel position is controlled
by a standard lighting console using DMX512, and the fader position is
proportional to the gel position, allowing partial frames to be used.
For extended gel life, the Coloram IT is built with a three-speed fan, and
the fan's settings – off, low, and normal – can be controlled remotely from a
lighting console or laptop. And each Coloram IT uses the PS family of power
supplies in 150, 300, and 600 watts, providing power and signal to each head in
one combined cable for ease of wiring, including daisy-chaining.
But the benefits of Coloram IT don't end there. Because the color changer
works hand-in-hand with the RDM-based Infotrace feedback system, the Coloram IT
can send valuable information straight to you, the operator.
Wybron CXI IT
The CXI IT™ offers the legendary dual scroller color mixing you've
come to trust &ndash but now with the security of feedback with Infotrace, the
feedback system built with the industry-standard communication protocol Remote
Device Management, or RDM.
Two scrolling gelstrings in cyan, magenta and yellow can be combined to
create 432 distinct colors. Gelstring position is controlled by a standard
lighting console using DMX512, and the fader positions are proportional to the
gel position, allowing partial frames to be used. And with partial frames on a
light that integrates the color, a nearly infinite palette of colors is
available.
For extended gel life, a 3-speed fan is included, with three settings – off,
low, and normal – controlled remotely from the console or laptop.
Wybron PS Power Supplies
Wybron's 150-, 300- and 600-watt PS Power Supplies attach easily to a truss
or can be mounted into a 19-inch rack. Each provides power for Wybron's
Infotrace-compatible products, which send feedback to their operators with Remote
Device Management, an ESTA-standard talkback protocol.
A power supply can be controlled by one or several DMX512 channels that send
DMX signals from the lighting console to each device along with 24 volts of
direct current. Both the signal and the power travel along a single cable,
eliminating the need for a separate power cable for each device.
Wybron Forerunner
Enjoy 16 frames of vivid color with the Forerunner™, an
economical scroller that fits nearly every common theatrical lighting fixture.
Reliable, inexpensive and easy to use, the Forerunner is perfect for simple
shows that don't need the full range of features available in the Coloram or CXI.
The Forerunner's Autoload feature makes installing gelstrings simple, and
with Wybron's ColorExpress IT service, it's easy to order additional gelstrings.
The position of the gelstring is controlled by one channel of DMX512 on a
standard lighting console, and the fader's position is proportional to the gel's
position, allowing the operator to manipulate partial gel frames.
For extended gel life, the Forerunner features a quiet but effective fan.
The Forerunner is available in two sizes – 4 inch and 7 inch.
Wybron Autopilot II
Track even the most active performers in real time with Wybron's
award-winning Autopilot II, which transforms moving lights into followspots.
With Autopilot II, performers wear small beltpack transponders that send
signals to the Autopilot II, and Autopilot II then controls the pan-and-tilt
movement of the moving lights – up to 60 fixtures within two DMX universes.
Above, the Autopilot II is used to track musician David Crowder during a
concert.
On some lights, the iris can be controlled to keep the size of the light beam
consistent, regardless of the performer's distance from the fixture. But other
parameters such as color changers and gobo patterns still must be controlled
from the lighting console.
The Autopilot II also controls certain video cameras with automated yokes.
The user interface for Autopilot II runs on a Windows-based PC, with computer
graphics showing a real-time three-dimensional representation of your setup.
Wybron Eclipse IT Shutter
The Eclipse IT Shutter motorized shutter dowser fits nearly every theatrical
and film lighting fixture. For arc source fixtures that can't be dimmed
electrically, using a mechanical dimmer like the Eclipse is the only option.
This dowser produces strobe effects at up to 10 cycles per cent (60 percent
closed) and full cuts as fast as five times per second. One channel of DMX controls the position of the Eclipse Shutter, but if the
production isn't using a full lighting console, the operator can use a local
control to manipulate the device. This local control works with 3-pin cable that
can stretch a maximum of 1,000 feet, and it offers two positions: fully open or
completely closed. The Eclipse Shutter works with Wybron's three-time award-winning Infotrace
Control and Management System, which uses Remote Device Management, a two-way
communication protocol, to send feedback from the lighting equipment to the
user's computer.
Wybron Eclipse IT Iris
The Eclipse IT Iris, a motorized iris dowser, fits nearly every sports,
theatrical, and film lighting fixture. For arc source fixtures that can't be
dimmed electrically, using a mechanical dimmer like the Eclipse Iris is the only
option.
Lighting legend George Izenour designed the mechanism for NBC more than 50
years ago, and Wybron later added modern coatings and DMX control to the
strikingly innovative design.
The configuration of the Eclipse Iris provides incredibly smooth transitions
from open to closed, and when it's fully open, no fins block the field of the
luminaire.
One channel of DMX512 controls the position of the Eclipse Iris, but if the
production isn't using a full lighting console, the operator can use a local
control to open and close the aperture. This local control works with 3-pin
cable that can stretch a maximum of 1,000 feet, and it offers two positions:
fully open or completely closed.
All sizes of the Eclipse Iris work with Wybron's three-time award-winning
Infotrace Control and Management System, which uses Remote Device Management, a
two-way communication protocol, to send feedback from the lighting equipment to
the user's computer.
Wybron Infotrace
Imagine checking your lighting equipment and diagnosing any problems without
grabbing a ladder or strapping on a harness. It's possible with Wybron's
award-winning Infotrace Control and Management System, which gives you the tools
to manage your rig without leaving your computer. Using the two-way
communication protocol Remote Device Management, or RDM, Infotrace enables you
to inspect and address everything in your lighting system, managing it and
knowing that it works.
Infotrace lets you:
- Automate the setup of DMX addresses – no more setting DIP switches by hand
- Proactively check the condition of equipment before, during and after a
show
- Track lamp duty cycles and predict lamp failure before it happens
- Predict when to perform maintenance on equipment
- Know when to replace a gelstring before it degrades
... and much more.
The heart of the system is Infogate. This specialized software uses RDM to let you remotely address and run diagnostics on
potentially every piece of equipment mounted on a rig. Infogate works with all of Wybron's IT products and all RDM-compatible equipment from any other
manufacturer.
No RDM? No problem. Most equipment can be upgraded to RDM with the
installation of a Wybron Infochip. That means the setup, testing, and troubleshooting for an
entire rig can be coordinated from a single laptop.
